Hello, my name is Matt Burris. My story starts on a dark and stormy night........... just kidding. I started playing bass in 1986, after two years of trombone in the school band. I met Allen in that very same school band, and we picked around a little before starting our own band in 1988. I have played in bands, formed bands, recorded original music, etc. for the last 17 years, but I have never had so much fun as I have in Smiley Died. You all know the story, I'm sure, from reading the other bio's, so I won't bore you with it again. Let's just say it's been a hell of a ride so far, and I'm looking forward to the rest of it. Music to me is like air. I eat, sleep, and breathe it. If you are a musician, you understand the ultimate rush of you and your bandmates hitting that groove, and knowing you are making some kick ass music. If you're not a musician, let's just say that the feeling of making great music is like making great love! I love you all, and I hope that many years from now, people will remember me as a good musician, entertainer, and songwriter. I hope most of all that people will remember my songs, and that it made them feel something, or reminded them of something they had forgotten.
